A U.S. Marine from Dayton is among those killed in a helicopter crash Tuesday in California.
Gunnery Sergeant Richard Holley was a helicopter crew chief. Officials say the aircraft was on a training mission when it crashed. The cause is under investigation. The Marines were with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing's 465th squadron out of the Miramar air station in San Diego. Their CH-53E Super Stallion crashed in the desert outside El Centro, near the U.S.-Mexico border.
