Vets Memorial Demolition Delayed

wikipedia

Franklin County officials say the demolition of Veterans Memorial in downtown Columbus will take several months longer than expected, delaying the construction of a statewide memorial planned for the site. The foundation of the building supports portions of the Franklinton Floodwall, meaning additional underground work will be needed at a cost of 2.8 million dollars. Total cost of the demolition, which was expected to be finished by April, is now 4.8 million dollars. The Columbus Downtown Development Corporation is overseeing the new 55 million dollar statewide memorial and museum.
