Voluntary recycling up despite failed pilot project

Columbus, OH – 2006 was a mixed bag for recycling in Columbus. In December, City Council approved legislation requiring builders to recycle a percentage of the debris from demolished buildings. But Project Blue-bag, the test project for residents, ended in July as a result of low participation. In the final part of our look back at 2006 with Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, he says because voluntary recycling is growing, there's no plans to require residents to recycle.
