Weekly Jobless Benefit Applications In Ohio Decline

The Labor Department says weekly applications for unemployment insurance benefits in Ohio fell by nearly 51 hundred last week due to fewer layoffs in manufacturing. Ohio had the ninth-largest decline of the 50 states. Nationally, claims rose by 19 thousand last week to a seasonally-adjusted 348 thousand. The increase follows three straight weeks of declines.
