Whitehall Purchases Troubled Apartment Complex

Demolition of an apartment complex Whitehall police say is a public safety hazard could start next year.  The city bought the 17-acre site of the Commons at Royal Landing apartment complex earlier this week for 4.5 million dollars. The deal is expected to close in the summer.  The purchase was made in order to allow city crews to demolish the property, which has been found to be in violation of municipal codes. Whitehall police were called to the complex more than 400 times in the last six months of 2015.
