Nearly 800 people could lose their jobs if Columbus Castings can't find a buyer. The company sent a letter to the city indicating layoffs could start on June 21st and stretch out for two weeks if a buyer is not found. In 2014 , the company announced plans to add 500 jobs to meet increased demand for its rail industry products. Demand has since waned. The company has received millions in state and local tax breaks.
