Woman, 4-Year-Old Daughter Dead Outside Home

Columbus police say a woman and her 4-year-old daughter have been found dead outside their southeast side home.

Police say officers were called to the Fleet Road home around 9 a.m. Friday on a report of a shooting. Police say the bodies of 34-year-old Nicole Duckson and her daughter were found by a co-worker who went to the home when Duckson didn't show up to take her to work. Police didn't identify a possible suspect, but believe Duckson knew the killer or killers.  Columbus recorded 143 homicides last year, four more than the number of people killed in 1991 during the crack cocaine epidemic. The bodies were found the same day Columbus graduated its latest class of police recruits amid soaring street violence. A police Facebook post says the victims were stabbed to death.
