Columbus, OH – The number of traffic accidents in road construction work zones in Ohio has fallen by nearly 40 percent since 2001. Last year, there were more than 5-thousand such crashes, resulting in 13-hundred injuries and ten fatalities. This is Work Zone Awareness Week, and the Ohio Department of Transportation is urging motorists to use extra caution throughout the year. O-DOT spokesperson Nancy Burton tells Mike Foley motorists should slow down and avoid distractions when travelling through work zones.
