Worthington City Council Monday night approved legislation banning sales of tobacco and related products to people under the age of 21.
The measure takes effect July 1, but no citations or fines would be imposed on retailers until October 1. Worthington’s version of the “Tobacco 21” law mirrors Columbus’ measure and is similar to those in Dublin, Grandview Heights, New Albany and Powell.
