Wrongful Death Lawsuit In Chardon H.S. Shootings May Proceed

The 11th Ohio District Court of Appeals is allowing a wrongful death lawsuit to proceed against five Chardon school district officials stemming from the 2012 shootings at Chardon High School that killed three students. A judge previously dismissed the district and Lake Academy Alternative School in Willoughby from the suit. Negligence claims against individual school employees were also dismissed. The judge allowed the remaining claims to stand. The court rejected a request from attorneys for the plaintiffs to dismiss the suit.
