The North Carolina Supreme Court is allowing a wrongful death lawsuit against a former U.S. Marine convicted in the death of a pregnant colleague from Ohio to proceed.Cesar Laurean was sentenced to life in prison last year for the slaying of Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach of Dayton. The suit was filed by Lauterbach's family against Laurean and his now-former wife. The litigation was stayed last year until Laurean's chances at appeal could be determined.
