Youth Soccer Again Being Played At Saunders Park

WCBE files

Youth soccer fields at Saunders park are once again in use after the City of Columbus spent more than 2 million dollars to place a cap over soil contaminated with arsenic and other toxins. Some kids in the area had been playing on the fields despite a 2012 report about contamination. The contamination is thought to have come from a fertilizer manufacturer that closed in 1970. Testing in 2014 found high levels of arsenic and other toxins at eight nearby homes.
