The Ohio Highway Patrol says a Powell woman was killed and her husband injured Saturday night in Marion when their motorcycle struck a deer and crashed on State Route 98.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says Stark and Lorain counties in northeast Ohio led the state in the number of deer crashes last year. 

Ohio's insurance director says fall represents the peak season for deer-related crashes in the state.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says there were more than 22-thousand deer-vehicle collisions in Ohio last year.
