Delaware County has settled for 300 thousand dollars a civil rights lawsuit filed by the family of an intoxicated Hispanic man struck and killed by a car who was walking along Route 36 after Sheriff's deputies dropped him off at a Mexican fast-food restaurant.

The family of a man killed in 2012 after two Delaware County Sheriff's deputies and a State Highway Patrol trooper failed to arrest him for drunken driving is suing the county and the officers.

An arbitrator has ruled a State Highway Patrol trooper who was fired after failing to arrest a suspected drunken driver near I-71 in Delaware County last year must get his job back.

An Ohio Appeals Court has overturned the convictions of former State Highway Patrol trooper Sean Carpenter, who failed to arrest a drunken man who died after being struck by a vehicle along Routes 36 and 37 in Delaware County last year.

The State Highway Patrol has fired the trooper who was involved with a traffic stop on I-71 in Delaware County last year in which an intoxicated man was later killed.
