The Village of Buckeye Lake has canceled its Independence Day holiday fireworks show for the third straight year. 

The Franklin County Dog Shelter is full after the Fourth of July holiday.

Bill Legalizing Fireworks Stalls

An effort to legalize consumer grade fireworks in Ohio has hit a procedural snag in the legislature.

Ohioans can buy fireworks here but they must, under current law, take them out of state to detonate them. An Ohio Senate committee has passed a bill that would change that. 

Three Clark County men are facing misdemeanor charges of possessing and discharging fireworks, and more charges are pending.

Fireworks Bring More Strays To Animal Shelter

The Franklin County Animal Shelter reports more dogs than usual ended up at the facility because they were likely frightened by the noise from last week's fireworks displays.
