Parking Permits

Columbus City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Wednesday concerning changes to parking rules for the Short North.

Expanding some Short North and Italian Village parking permit areas and sharing parking fees are among the recommendations a working group has sent to Columbus City Council for approval.

A working group studying possible solutions to overcrowded parking lots in the Short North has come up with several ideas, including setting aside permits for businesses, removing parking meters and issuing only two permits per household.

Columbus transportation officials have voted down a petition that would have required parking permits after 4 p.m. in German Village.
