University of Cincinnati researchers predict a 1.54 percent increase in Ohio holiday retail shopping this year, a rate lower than in recent years.

The official start of the holiday shopping season is a few days away, but it's shaping up to be a good one for Ohio retailers.

A University of Cincinnati Economics Center forecast projects a 4.2 percent increase in retail sales for November and December, as compared with the same period a year ago.

Many of the nation's retailers are reporting strong sales gains for August.
