A group of U.S. Senators is backing a proposal to eliminate a tax penalty levied on student loans forgiven after the death or disability of the borrower.


Republican Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says a new advisory group will meet this month to review the debt-collection practices for unpaid student loans at public colleges and universities.
